Keith Lieberthal was born on August 23, 1977, in Ohio. He was born to Jewish parents, Jane Lindsay and Kenneth Guy Lieberthal. Keith's father is a famous American political scientist. He has enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a reputed lawyer. He has one sibling, a brother named Geoffrey.
Keith graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and went on to study at Dartmouth College from 1991 to 1995 where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy. He also attended Harvard Law School where he majored in Law and graduated in 1999. He was also a member of the student advisory board during his tenure. While pursuing his major in law at Harvard Law School, Lieberthal interned for a federal judge in Manhattan.
Keith Lieberthal married "The Good Wife" actress Julianna Margulies on November 10, 2007, in Lenox, Massachusetts. Margulies' marriage to Lieberthal would be her second but the actress has publicly said how lucky she feels to have found Keith who is six years younger. Margulies was seven months pregnant when she married Lieberthal and soon after tying the knot, the couple's first son was born. Margulies said she never expected to get married again until she met Lieberthal. She had just come out of a devastating 12-year relationship with actor Ron Eldard which spanned from 1991 to 2003.
His wife Margulies has been successful at balancing her personal life with her professional career. She decided to focus on raising her family and turned down a $27 million offer by "ER" management to stay on the show where she spent 6 years playing Nurse Carol Hathaway. Her performance on the show "ER" alongside costar George Clooney earned her rave reviews and numerous awards including an Emmy. After her success in the hit show "ER", Lieberthal's celebrity wife would go on to make an appearance in a Steven Seagal film titled "Out for Justice" where she played a prostitute.
The couple appeared together at a red carpet event for the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City where the couple is believed to reside. Lieberthal and Margulies appeared happy to be together during their appearance at the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards. Margulies had a role in the AMC series "Dietland" which premiered on June 4, 2018. Lieberthal and Margulies also appeared at the American Film Institute's 2018 Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute a few days after the CFDA Fashion Awards. Lieberthal returned to his role as an Associate at Covington & Burling LLP from 2002 to 2005. He was also General Counsel for Tommy Hilfiger from 2008 to 2010, Director of Global Strategy at Guidepoint from 2010 to 2015, and Senior Director at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts from 2015 to 2018.
