Lauren Stamile was born in 1976 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is an American actress known for her work in television. She is the third of five children. Her father was a physician and her mother a nurse, roles which inspired her early sense of discipline and work ethic. Stamile graduated from Cascia Hall Preparatory School before studying theatre at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. During college, she worked in restaurants to support herself financially. After earning her degree, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting.
Stamile began performing at the age of four, and her early stage work includes a 1998 appearance in The Miser with the Pearl Theatre Company. In 1999, she served as an understudy in the Broadway production of The Lion in Winter. Contrary to some reports, Laurence Olivier was not involved in that production; he passed away in 1989. The 1999 cast included Laurence Fishburne and Stockard Channing.
Stamile gained broader recognition through her television career. She appeared in a 2000 episode of The Drew Carey Show and later co-starred in the WB sitcom Off Centre. Though the series was short-lived, she landed numerous guest roles on popular television shows, including Scrubs, The West Wing, Boston Legal, Crossing Jordan, Tru Calling, Cold Case, CSI: Miami, Without a Trace, Drop Dead Diva, The Good Guys, and Summerland.
Her most recognized performances include Nurse Rose in ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, Michelle Slater in NBC’s Community, and CIA Agent Dani Pearce in USA Network’s Burn Notice. Additional roles have included appearances in Scandal, The Mentalist, The Event, and Criminal Minds.
In addition to her television work, Stamile has appeared in several films such as Kissing Cousins, Alligator Point, Follow Me Outside, and projects like the Untitled Allan Loeb Project. She has also featured in national advertisements for brands including Volkswagen, JC Penney, Tassimo, Old Spice, and Summer's Eve.
Lauren Stamile married writer Randy Zamcheck in 2009. She enjoys music, traveling, and spending time with her husband. A health-conscious individual, she maintains her physical fitness through yoga and regular exercise, and she is known for her balanced diet and preference for natural-looking cosmetics. Her interests also include fashion and skincare, and she has a noticeable online presence, especially on platforms like Instagram and Tumblr.
Known for her ambition and on-screen versatility, Stamile has built a solid career in both television and film. Her ability to portray a range of character types—from comedic to dramatic—has made her a consistent presence in Hollywood. As of recent estimates, her net worth is reportedly around $7 million, reflecting her sustained work in both commercial and critically acclaimed productions.
