Lyse Doucet was born in the year 1958 in the month of December 24th and she is one of the popular Canadian Journalist. She was the BBC’s Chief International Correspondent and anchored many shows on BBC World News television, BBC World Service radio, BBC News and BBC Radio 4. Also she was a reporter for Newsnight too.
Education
Lyse is a resident of Bathurst in New Brunswick at Canada and she was brought up in an Anglophone family. Her family background had the traces of Irish and Misgmaw ancestry. Doucet’s sister was a Sociology Professor at Canada and her name was Andrea Doucet. Lyse pursued her graduation in Bachelor of Arts at Queen’s University at Kingston during the year 1980. At this period, Lyse was writing for the newspaper and magazines for the university release. Further, she did her Master’s in International Relationships at the University of Toronto in the year 1982. During this time, she as well engaged herself with a volunteer assignment in teaching English for 4 months with Canadian Crossroads International. Lyse is fluently bilingual and she knows French and English good. Also she knows Arabic and Persian, however she is less fluent in speaking these languages. Career
During the year 1983 to 88, Lyse was a freelancer at West Africa and wrote for BBC and other Canadian Media. Her excellent work and writing standards has helped her to make a strong and long-term career relationship with BBC. She reported from Pakistan during the year 1988 and was grounded in Kabul from the end of 1988 to 89 to comprehend and cover the aftermath of Soviet Troop Withdrawal. In the year 1989 – 1993, Doucet was the Correspondent of BBC at Islamabad and she was reporting from Iran and Afghanistan. Later in the year 1994, Doucet set the BBC office at Amman in Jordan. In the year 1995 to 1999, Lyse was in Jerusalem and she travelled towards the Middle East. Later in the year 1999, she again got copulated with the BBC team however she kept reporting from her working area.
Other activities
Lyse was a Council Member of Royal Institute of International Affairs and ICHR (International Council for Human Rights) at Geneva. In the year 2003, Doucet won the Silver Sony Award for her interview with Yasser Arafat. In the year 2010, Lyse was awarded with Peabody and David Bloom Award for the Film on Maternal Mortality at Afghanistan.
