Mauricio Pochettino was born on March 2, 1972 in Murphy, Argentina. Mauricio Pochettino is a professional football coach who currently coaches the English Premier League team, the Tottenham Hotspurs. He didn’t get the coaching position out of nowhere. He was qualified to coach the team because of his previous playing career. He was a former player for the Spanish league when he was a member of the club Espanyol.
Pochettino was born to a middle class family in Argentina. His father worked at an automobile repair shop to support the family. Pochettino’s hard work was helpful for Pochettino because it allowed him to focus on the sport he lived. There’s always rags to riches stories about poor athletes who lived in inner cities without much to get bay on a daily basis. Those stories are amazing because the people grew up poor but found a way to succeed. Even though Pochettino wasn’t hampered with the same disadvantage, he still managed his time enough to develop his craft. Pochettino started playing football from a very young age. He fell in love with the sport and put all his focus on making a lifelong connection with football.
Pochettino has two siblings with whom he spent the most of his childhood in Murphy. Little did Pochettino know that he would end up being one of the most famous people to come out of the town of Murphy. Pochettino was selected by the Newell's Old Boys club in 1987 and started to practice his game for them. He made his official debut in 1988. He had finally reached his dream of playing organized football. All the hard work he put in during his childhood came to a peak when he was 16 years old. He was still a young man but he was good enough for a team to believe in him.
Pochettino stayed with the Newell's Old Boys club for 5 years and won many accolades and awards with the team. He was just 22 years old at the end of his run with his first team. His next move was to go to Spain so he could join the RCD Espanyol team. At this point in time, he had become one of the best future prospects for the club and was regarded as one of the best in the league. He stayed with the RCD Espanyol club for 6 years and won Copa Del Rey during his team with the team. Unfortunately for Pochettino, he couldn't win the league championship as the two teams Barcelona and Real Madrid were leaps and bounds better that every other team and they won the league every year. There was no shame in losing to two of the most dominant teams in Spanish League history. Barcelona and Real Madrid have been the top teams in the Spanish League for decades. They don’t even slow down in the modern era. Their storied franchises and strong brand names always help them attract the best young players in the world. Without a constant pipeline of new talent coming in to the top teams, there’s very little chance for the small teams to ever compete with them.

After his run with PSG, Pochettino went on to play for the French football club, Bordeaux. The stint with the French team was very short as it only lasted for half a season. Pochettino returned to his former club in the Spanish league, RCD Espanyol. He was welcomed back by his loving fans. Pochettino helped the team retain a position in the league and also beat Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the process. He soon became a fan favorite in the league and he was praised by the sports journalists and media. He left the team in 2013 after four years and joined Southampton. He stayed at the club for only one year and took the club to an eighth position finish that was the highest achieved by Southampton for a very long time.
His expert management and tactics caught the eye of many top clubs. He was highly sought after for his coaching ability. In 2014, Pochettino signed on to become the manager of the Tottenham Hotspurs. In 2016, Pochettino took the Hotspurs to their highest ranking ever when they finished in the 3rd spot.
