Nick Clooney, born in Maysville, Kentucky on January 13, 1934, is a well-known and celebrated journalist. He served as a US Corporal in the United States Army and later became a disc jockey in the American Forces Network hosting Music in the Air and Melody-Go-Round. He married Nina Warren in 1959 shortly before his move in the 1960s Clooney was worked as a news anchor at WKYT and later hosted his own show The Nick Clooney Show which first aired in Ohio.
It was not until the 1970s that Clooney became nationally recognized, attributed to his appearance on ABCs The Money Maze. He is best remembered for his coverage of the Beverly Hills Super Club fire. In 1984, Clooney moved to Los Angeles, California working with NBC and later FOX News in Utah.
In 2004, Clooney opted for a career change, moving to the political forefront and running as a Democrat for the United States House of Representatives. Despite his nomination, Clooney was unable to secure a win for the House, losing 44% to 54%. Clooney in 2006 traveled with his son, George (actor), to Darfur, Sudan and filmed the documentary A Journey to Darfur, later broadcasted on cable television. His daughter Adelia “Ada” married in 1987 to Norman Zeidler.
