Sarah Nicole Hardman, professionally known as Sarah Harding, was born on November 17, 1981, in Ascot, Berkshire, United Kingdom. She rose to fame in 2002 after auditioning for the ITV reality television series Popstars: The Rivals. Through the show, she earned a place in the girl group Girls Aloud, formed by public vote.
Girls Aloud quickly became one of the United Kingdom's most successful pop groups. They achieved twenty consecutive top ten singles on the UK Singles Chart, including four number-one hits. Their six studio albums all achieved platinum status in the UK. Girls Aloud received five BRIT Award nominations and won Best British Single in 2009 for their hit "The Promise."
In addition to her music career, Harding pursued acting. She appeared in various film and television projects, including Bad Day, Freefall, Run for Your Wife, and St. Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold. For the latter, she also contributed three songs to the film's soundtrack, showcasing her versatility as a performer.
In 2011, Harding entered a rehabilitation center to seek treatment for depression, alcohol dependency, and prescription drug use. Her decision to seek help was widely covered in the media and highlighted her personal challenges amid a high-profile entertainment career.
Girls Aloud officially disbanded in early 2013, following a final reunion tour. In 2017, Harding re-entered the public spotlight by competing in Celebrity Big Brother 20. Her appearance on the show resonated with audiences, and she won the competition on August 25, 2017, earning 35.33% of the final public vote.
Harding's personal life often drew media attention. She began dating DJ Tom Crane in 2007, and the couple became engaged in January 2011. However, they ended their relationship in September of the same year, shortly before Harding entered rehab. She was briefly linked to Dutch producer Theo De Vries. Reports also surfaced about a relationship with co-star Danny Dyer during the filming of Run for Your Wife.
