SASHA Farber is an Australian professional dancer who was born on May 9, 1984, in Moscow, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, USSR. When he was two-years-old, he moved with his Jewish family to Australia. There in the family's new home, Farber flourished and soon found his passion for dance. By the age of 13 he had begun his training and by age 17, he won the Australian Youth Latin Championships twice. He also represented Australia at the World Latin Championships. In 2000, Farber was featured in the Sydney Olympic Games closing ceremony. The same year he was featured on the second season of the Australian version the American dance competition television series "Dancing with the Stars". Farber returned to appear on the show's fourteenth season and as a troupe member.
He was promoted to a professional dancer in season 17 and he was paired with "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. The couple ended up tying for 7th place. Farber partnered with "Little Women: LA" star Terra Jole in season 23 but was once again eliminated finishing 5th place. In season 26, Farber was paired with former Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding. Together they made it to the finals but finished third. It was the closest Farber would come to winning the show but he would try once again in season 27 when he partnered with former Olympic gymnast Mary Lou Retton. The couple was eliminated 6 weeks in and finished in 9th place. Today Farber appears in music videos and other dance productions as a professional dancer and having achieved his dream.
