Shamra Rodriguez is famous for being the mother of Bahja Rodriguez, a member of the popular hip hop group, OMG.
Shamra Rodriguez was born on August 14, 1977.
As a parent of entertainers, Shamra Rodriguez said in her interviews:” I think all people understand how much young people change in the 8 years from 12 to 20. At 12 years old the child is not yet a teenager, but at 20 years old we have an adult”. Bahja’s growing years were played out on stage in the difficult world of show business. Shamra is happy for her and thinks it is good for her daughter to have had this experience. Shamra Rodriguez has also been featured on several of her daughter’s cover songs.
Shamra always spends a lot of time improving herself and making her family happy. Her goals focus on her desire to be a good mother as well as a successful woman. Even now she helps Bajha with her advertising and promotion. Shamra Rodriguez also distributes Bajha’s singles and EP. In her Twitter she often posts different articles about her daughters and writes how she is proud of them.
Shamra likes to share pictures of her family on Instagram. On Mother’s day, she posted a few photographs with the caption “, "I remember like yesterday at the age of 19 coming to you crying saying "Mommie I'm pregnant!" You grabbed me and hugged me oh so tight and said "I got you and I will be by your side every step of the way." Fast forward to me finding out a week before my wedding day that my soon to be husband had been cheating on me. I came to you in tears because I didn't know what to do. Once again you hugged me grabbed me by my face and said "you don't have to get married. I’m not concerned about the money spent nor what people will think. If we can't work it out it can't be worked out!" I say this to say Mommie you are truly my backbone and strength! You have shown me what it is like to be loved unconditionally. You have shown me to never judge and to only impress myself! I love you more than life itself. I appreciate everything you have shown and instilled in me to be the best woman and mother I could possibly be. Thank you for all your constant prayers for me and the girls. I love you Mommie and I could never repay you for the way you love us!!
Shamra Rodriguez has two daughters named Bahja and Lourdes. Shamra was nineteen when she first became pregnant and relied on her mother for support. Her daughter, Bahja was born in 1996, and Lolo was born in 1998. Both girls were members of a popular American all-girl hip hop group called “OMG Girlz”. OMG stands for Officially Miss Guided, but the name was intended to be a play on words. Miss and Guided aimed to portray the group in a positive way, “Miss” was used as a name for proper young ladies and “Guided” referred to the proper direction they were being given in life. Both Bahja and Lolo started their careers in early childhood and Shamra raised them to be strong and hardworking women.
Shamra Rodriguez's lovely daughter Bahja celebrated her 20th birthday on August 2, 2016. Shamra is very proud of her. Bahja showed an interest in music and began performing when she was just a child. Bajha became a member of the famous American hip hop group “OMG Girlz” at the age of thirteen. Bajha is also now known for her appearance in several television shows and series. OMG Girlz is considered an Atlanta based, all-girl group and performed in public for the first time on an episode of Black Entertainment Television’s reality television show “Tiny and Toya”. The band’s mission was to inspire young women all over the world letting them know that they could stand together as friends, teens, and young women. The band had three highly successful singles, "Can't Stop Loving You", "Where the Boys at", and "Gucci This (Gucci That)"
When “OMG Girlz” group members became older and successful, they disbanded and focused their efforts on creating solo careers. Shamra has always supported and believed in her daughters’ talents. She does everything she can to help them express themselves and become successful. Her daughter Bajha produced her first solo song “Jealous Type” which gained over one million plays. Then she released two more songs, “Lipstick” and “Next One”. She recorded music videos for them and both reached more than 1 Million views on Youtube. Bahja's own EP “It Gets Better” was produced in 2015. Shamra supported her daughter Bajha on her first solo concert in Atlanta city which was very important to her.
