<p>Stan Cadwallader was a firefighter who was most famous for being the husband of Jim Nabors, the actor who played “<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gomer_Pyle">Gomer Pyle</a>” on The Andy Griffith Show. The couple was praised for their homosexual relationship because they came out to the public during a time when homosexuality was not yet widely accepted as it is today.</p>

<p>Stan’s husband died when he was 87 years old. He passed away in his Hawaii home and his death was confirmed to the media by his personal assistant. He had a long career in the entertainment industry and appeared on many television programs. Besides his role on the Andy Griffith Show, Jim was well known for being an advocate for gay marriage before he passed away.</p>

<p>Stan and Jim met each other in 1975. Stan had started working with Nabors as a business associate after many years as a firefighter. At first they kept their relationship a secret until they were ready to come out.</p>
