Stephanie Mead is the weather and traffic anchor for WISH-TV news team. Stephanie Mead is a native of Chicago and is one of three sisters. Stephanie attended Hinsdale South High School in Darien, Illinois. After graduating high school, Stephanie went on to attend Northern Illinois University where, in 2013, she earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Geography with a minor in journalism. While in college, Stephanie worked as an intern for three months for WTVO-TV, channel 17, which covers the Rockland, Illinois area. In 2011, Stephanie began her professional career at the Northern Television Center at DeKalb, working as a weather presenter and reporter and juggling her career and undergraduate studies.
Upon her graduation from Northern Illinois University, Stephanie joined KMVT-TV in Twin Falls, Idaho. There Stephanie was a weather presenter and reporter working under chief meteorologist Brian Neudorff. In April of 2015, Stephanie joined NBC at Green Bay, Wisconsin; it was reported that she made the move so that she could be closer to her family. Stephanie remained in Green Bay for two years, sometimes doing weather forecasting in sub-zero temperatures at Lambeau Field. Stephanie Mead was nominated for the Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Awards in 2016/2017 for the reporting she did for NBC 26.
