Long Island Medium follows Theresa Caputo, who claims she can communicate with the dead, as she meets prospective clients.</p>

<p>Each episode focuses on Theresa as she conducts readings with those who wish to communicate with loves ones that have died. Although Theresa’s abilities are doubted by most members of the scientific community, the show itself has been a commercial success. The show has run into its eighth season and Theresa’s popularity has allowed her to author three books and even create her own jewelry line. Theresa’s latest book, Good Grief: Heal Your Soul, Honor Your Loved Ones, and Learn to Live Again, was published in 2017. Theresa and her husband, Larry Caputo, recently announced jointly that they would be getting divorced after twenty eight years of marriage. The couple has two children (both of whom have appeared on the show) named Larry Caputo Jr. and Victoria Caputo. Larry Caputo Sr. moved to Los Angeles after the couple’s separation.</p>
