Tiffany Cabán is known as an American attorney and public defender. She is most famous for winning the spot of Queens County's District Attorney in New York.
Tiffany Cabán was born in 1988 in Richmond Hill, Queens to Puerto Rican guardians who experienced childhood in Woodside Houses. Her father worked as an elevator specialist and her mom dealt with the care of other individuals' children. Tiffany went to PS 62 in Richmond Hill and JHS 210 Elizabeth Blackwell in Woodhaven, and later went to St. Francis Preparatory High School in Fresh Meadows.
Tiffany earned a Bachelor's degree in Crime, Law, and Justice from Pennsylvania State University and a Juris Doctorate from New York Law School. Energetic about the connection between law, strategy, and social imbalance, she entered graduate school realizing that she would one day become a public defender. While there, she participated in the Impact Center on Public Interest Law where she concentrated her support on criminal law and social equity.
Tiffany utilizes a comprehensive way to deal with work with clients to manufacture security in their lives. That approach is established in her own encounters with viciousness, psychological wellness, substance use issues, and monetary frailty. She enables clients to explore the immigration framework, inquire about instruction or occupation preparing openings, and secure business. Tiffany has helped undocumented immigrant survivors of abusive behavior at home acquire VAWA or U-visa status, represented people in Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income hearings, and supported for lodging and human services benefits. Her backing reaches out past typical office hours, and she volunteers with NYCDS' Community Outreach Committee and encourages network based Know Your Rights trainings all through the city of Queens.
In June 2019, Tiffany Cabán has announced triumph in the Democratic primary for head prosecutor in Queens, New York. It was a surprising victory by a 31-year-old public defender in a race that created national consideration as part of a push to choose increasingly progressive investigators who are committed to criminal justice reform.
Tiffany presently lives in Astoria and is the proud mother of two rescue pooches, Natalie and Coltrane. A competitor since adolescence, she participates in LGBTQIA+ sports associations and is a diehard sports fan. Tiffany Caban has portrayed herself as a queer Latina during her campaign and put it up front during her battle. She would be the first Latina, and first openly queer District Attorney in New York.
