Todd Schnitt was born on January 24, 1966 and he is an American talk show host for a conservative talk radio program in Tampa Florida. He is now the host of The Schnitt Show. This is an afternoon drive time on the News radio 970 WFLA and it is syndicated to the Compass Media Network. He was raised in Virginia and he started to work on the Radio when he was only a teenager while he was using MJ Kelli name.
Todd Schnitt has a net worth of 2 million dollars and he earned it as salary in different radio stations where he worked when he was still young. He started to host his show in Los Angeles. This was the reason why he got an offer to work in New York. He launched his Morning Show, which he hosted until the year 2012.
In Todds early life, he was always fascinated by the radio, and dreamed of hosting his own show. Todd Schnitt got his interest in the Radio in the 1970s while listening to Music Radio 77 WABC. He was fascinated by what was going on with the Radio and he listened to WABC as much as he could. He worked in the radio since 1982, when he was only 16 while working as a part time employee with WCPK-AM 1600 before it closed down. While in his high school, he attended different schools in Hampton Roads stations which include WVNZ (Z-10), WNIS and WVAB. He attended Ithaca College while working on Student-Run station Cornell WVBR.
He returned to the Hampton Roads in 1986, where he started to work full time on WRSR-FM and afterwards the radio was called WGH-FM. His Name MJ Kelli was used for the first time a WGH-FM. He had to choose a new name because the director did not like him to use Todd Schnitt since he said that it is not a good name for a radio. While working on Z104 in Virginia, he had to sue Jayne for 3 million dollars because he called him homosexual Jew boy but even if the jury ruled for his favor, he got only $310,000 dollars.
In 1989, Schnitt got hired at Pirate Radio, KQLZ by Scott Shannon. He was to be an assistant program director and a creative director. He was also assigned as a morning show cast member. He joined Shannon at WPLJ to revamp it afterward. The MJ Morning show under MJ personality was hosted by Schnitt himself. The show was taking place from Monday until Friday at WFL/Tampa. The show was about personal experience, pop-culture, lifestyle news and current events. The show is most of the time about talking but they also play few songs. The show ended in 2012.
In October 1992, Todd left New York City, to start his own early morning show, The MJ Kelli Morning Show which aired on WOVV (Star 95.5), West Palm Beach, Florida. A few years later in 1994, Todd was brought in to help anchor a new morning show on WFLZ (The Power Pig). Todd was teamed up with BJ Harris, the Power Pig’s radio program director to form the MJ and BJ Morning Show. BJ Harris left the show on February 7, 2001 for unknown reasons. After BJ Harris left the show, it was renamed to The MJ Morning Show.
Todd is married to an attorney and former Hillsborough County prosecutor, Michelle Schnitt. They have two children and also owned two Jack Russell Terriers who lived to ages 18 and 19 until they passed away. Todd Schnitt is also a self described automobile enthusiast who loves to work on old classic cars, and an avid scuba diver who has years of experience diving, and Todd also likes to ski when he has extra time to himself.
Todd has a bit of a rivalry with another Tampa area radio host, Bubba the Love Sponge Clem. Bubba is a morning host at rock stations WXTB and later WHPT. In March 2008, Todd Schnitt sued Bubba the Love Sponge Clem for defamation of him and his wife. Allegedly, Bubba called his Todds wife Michelle a whore, and Todd obviously took offense. In Bubba the Love Sponge Clems defense, he indicated he was speaking of Todd's character MJ Kelli, and his disparaging remarks was just an act. Eventually after a long and torturous trial, a jury later found Bubba the Love Sponge Clem "not guilty" on all counts.
