Thomas Andrew Felton was born on September 22, 1987, in Epsom, Surrey, England, to Sharon and Peter Felton. He is the youngest of four siblings: Chris, Ashley, and Jonathan. He attended Cranmore School in West Horsley until the age of thirteen, where he developed a passion for music and performance.
A talented child singer, Felton participated in four school choirs and was eventually accepted into the prestigious Guildford Cathedral Choir. Despite his musical pursuits, one of his favorite hobbies growing up was fishing. In 2003, he and his brother Chris collaborated with Joe Babbitt of the St. Lawrence County Angler’s Association to launch the World Junior Carp Tournament, a competitive fishing event aimed at youth between the ages of 11 and 18.
While music was an early passion, Felton gradually gravitated toward acting. By the age of ten, he had appeared in several television commercials and soon transitioned to film. His early film credits include roles in The Borrowers (1997) and Anna and the King (1999), showcasing his versatility as a young actor.
In addition to acting, Felton enjoyed a wide range of physical activities such as cricket, basketball, tennis, football, golf, roller skating, and horse riding. He has frequently expressed his love for the outdoors, remarking that he finds peace and relaxation while climbing trees or spending time in nature.
Felton's major breakthrough came when he was cast as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series. He portrayed the role from 2001 to 2011, appearing in all eight films based on J.K. Rowling’s popular book series. His performance as the complex and antagonistic Slytherin student earned him widespread recognition.
His portrayal of Draco Malfoy garnered numerous accolades, including the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain in both 2010 and 2011. Following the conclusion of the Harry Potter series, Felton transitioned into more mainstream cinema with a role in the 2011 science fiction film Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
In addition to his acting career, Tom Felton has pursued his interest in music. He shares some of his original songs under the moniker “Feltbeats”, releasing music through platforms such as YouTube and iTunes. He has re-recorded and released fragments of nine original songs, showcasing his acoustic and folk influences.
Felton also released a six-track EP titled In Good Hands, which includes songs such as “When Angels Come,” “If You Could Be Anywhere,” “Convinced,” “We Belong,” “If That’s Alright with You,” and “Father of Mine.” In 2010, he launched his independent recording label, Six String Productions, under which he released the track “Hawaii.”
Tom Felton was previously in a long-term relationship with Jade Olivia Gordon, a British stunt assistant. The couple met on the set of the Harry Potter films, where Jade worked as the assistant to the stunt coordinator. Notably, she portrayed Astoria Greengrass, Draco Malfoy’s wife, in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.
While the couple spent significant time together, including vacations in Miami with their pet dog, their relationship eventually ended. Contrary to some public speculation, the pair never married. As of recent reports, Felton remains private about his current relationships, preferring to keep that aspect of his life away from the spotlight.
