He attended Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Miami before enrolling at Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. There, he earned a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Drama, and Speech. During his time at Loyola, Llamas was an active <a href="/biography/tom-llamas">member</a> of the LA Gamma chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon.</p>

<h2>Early Career in Broadcast Journalism</h2>

<p>Llamas began his career in journalism while still finishing his studies, joining NBC News Specials Unit in 2000. Later that same year, he transitioned to MSNBC, where he focused primarily on political coverage through 2005. His early involvement in national political reporting laid the foundation for a career marked by journalistic rigor and strong reporting skills.</p>

<p>Following his tenure at MSNBC, Llamas returned to Miami to work for NBC’s local station, WTVJ.
