Tony Abbott is known as an Australian politician who served as the 28th Prime Minister of Australia from 2013 to 2015. He was also famous for being the Leader of the Liberal Party from 2009 to 2015.
Career
Abbott was first elected as a Member of the Australian Parliament for Warringah in 1994. From 2009 to 2003, he served as Leader of the Opposition.
Tony Abbott was chosen as the Prime Minister by the Australian citizens on September 7 2013 and served his country for two years. In his time as Prime Minister, the carbon tax and the mining tax were canceled. He facilitated free trade agreements with top Asian countries such as China, Japan and Korea.
Under his watch, the human smuggling from Indonesia to Australia was stopped. Australia turned into the second biggest military supporter of the US lead crusade against ISIL in Iraq and hosted the G20 meeting of worldwide pioneers in Brisbane in November 2014.
In 2014 and again in 2015, he went through one week running the legislature from a remote indigenous village. He did this to improve relations between the regular citizens of Australia and their indigenous population.
As the Opposition Leader at the 2010 election, he diminished a first-term Labor government to minority status before completely winning the 2013 race.
