William Katt is known as an American film and television actor, voice artist and musician. He is most famous for being the star of the television series, The Greatest American Hero.

William Theodore Katt was born on February 16, 1951. Katt was born in Los Angeles to actors Bill Williams and Barbara Hale. He experienced childhood in the San Fernando Valley and started going towards the side of acting as a young man. Once in a while he would end up appearing in productions with his acting parents. Katt Graduated from the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California.
Career
Katt got his big acting break and fame for playing Tommy Ross, the doomed prom date of Carrie White in the film adaptation of Carrie in 1976. In 1978, he showed up as Barlow, a youthful surfer, in the John Milius drama film Big Wednesday opposite Jan-Michael Vincent and Gary Busey. His mom in that film was his real mother, Barbara Hale.
In 1979, he played the role of Sundance Kid in the film Butch and Sundance: The Early Days. The role in Big Wednesday made him so popular in the surfing community that in 2004 he presented one of the Association of Surfing Professionals awards at their yearly World Championship Tour.
