William Katt is known as an American film and television actor, voice artist and musician. He is most famous for being the star of the television series, The Greatest American Hero.

<a href="/biography/william-katt">William Theodore Katt</a> was born on February 16, 1951. Katt was born in Los Angeles to actors <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Williams_(actor)">Bill Williams</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Hale">Barbara Hale</a>. He experienced childhood in the San Fernando Valley and started going towards the side of acting as a young man. Once in a while he would end up appearing in productions with his acting parents. Katt Graduated from the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California.

Career

Katt got his big acting break and fame for playing <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Ross">Tommy Ross</a>, the doomed prom date of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrie_White">Carrie White</a> in the film adaptation of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrie_White">Carrie</a> in 1976. In 1978, he showed up as Barlow, a youthful surfer, in the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Milius">John Milius</a> drama film Big Wednesday opposite <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan-Michael_Vincent">Jan-Michael Vincent</a> and <a href="/biography/gary-busey">Gary Busey</a>. His mom in that film was his real mother, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Hale">Barbara Hale</a>.

In 1979, he played the role of Sundance Kid in the film Butch and Sundance: The Early Days. The role in Big Wednesday made him so popular in the surfing community that in 2004 he presented one of the Association of Surfing Professionals awards at their yearly World Championship Tour.
