Fox received her education at Bryanston School in Dorset, where she developed a passion for music, learning to play the cello, piano, and trumpet. She later attended St. Catherine’s College, University of Oxford, where she studied English.
Acting Career
Emilia Fox made her film debut in Roman Polanski’s acclaimed 2002 film The Pianist, portraying Dorota, a Polish cellist. Her breakthrough performance in the film led to further opportunities in cinema. She appeared in The Soul Keeper (2002), The Republic of Love (2003), and Things to Do Before You're 30 (2005), showcasing her versatility across various genres.
In addition to her film work, Fox is also known for her long-standing role as Dr. Nikki Alexander in the popular BBC crime drama Silent Witness, a role she took on in 2004 and has played for many seasons. Her work in television has solidified her status as a staple in British drama.
Personal Life
Emilia Fox was briefly engaged to comedian Vic Reeves; however, the engagement ended in 2000. She later dated artist Toby Mott, but the relationship was also short-lived.
In July 2005, Fox married British actor Jared Harris, son of legendary actor Richard Harris. The marriage lasted for three years, and they eventually divorced in 2010. Reports at the time indicated that a combination of personal tragedy and the challenges of a long-distance marriage contributed to the separation.
Following her divorce, Fox was in a relationship with actor and peace activist Jeremy Gilley. In November 2010, she gave birth to their daughter, Rose.
