General information

Even though Okuma was born in Canada, she is with Nigerian descent and thus credited as Enuka Okuma and alternatively – Enuka Vanessa Okuma. She began her career in the 1990 and she started her career in a television series. She appeared just as a regular cast member through the first season of Hillside, which was a popular soap opera. Throughout the 1990s she mainly had supporting roles in both Canadian TV Series and movies. Her debut was in the movie Double Jeopardy which was aired back in 1999.

She also co-starred in a variety of American criminal drama series such as Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye all the way from 2002 to 2005. She was also a guest star on Dark Angel as well as Cold Case and Grey’s Anatomy. It was during 2009 when she got one major role in a hit TV series. She got to play Marika Donoso for the entire seventh season of 24, which was a really popular and viral TV series.

Life as a TV star

In the beginning of 2010 Okuma started to play the role of detective Traci Nash on the Global ABC drama series called Rookie Blue. She played there through out five entire seasons and she was asked to lead the pilot episode of The Adversaries.

Her most recent role was the character Nia Lahey in the TV series How To Get Away with Murder. She was cast for 2 episodes. As far as her movie career goes, back in 2009 she played Officer Angie Riddic in the “Stolen” movie. She also played Karma in House of the Dead in 2003 and Sarah in Sea back in 2001.

Personal life

Even though she was born in Canada both of her parents were Nigerian. This is the reason for which her name is rather uncommon in the United States of America, where she spent most of her life in.

Enuka was involved in a long term relationship with her boyfriend - the musician Joe Gasparik. They met a while back in Toronto where they used to work on the same TV series. They dated for about three years when Joe got the blessing of her parents and they got engaged. Enuka is also a fan of social networks and she runs a very successful Facebook page which attracts thousands of people who follow her posts. At the same time she also has an Instagram where she had already shared hundred of images and had managed to gather hundreds of thousands of fans and followers. Okuma is definitely an aspiring actress that has showed the world of TV a great deal.
