In the year 2006, she was in the short lived drama called Six Degrees at the ABC.  From 2010 until 2015, she was playing as Julia Braverman-Graham at the NBC family drama series called Parenthood. In the year 2014, she got the Gracie Award for the performance she had in that movie. She was the Beaumointaine in the short lived crime drama series of ABC called Wicked City.

She is the members of Church of Scientology since her parents joined the church when they were young and she was raised in the Faith of the Scientology. She was also homeschooled.

Erika Christensen got married to Cole Maness who is a cyclist and she had the relationship with her husband for sometime before they decided to get married. The marriage took place in the year 2015 in California in Palm Springs and they live in Los Feliz in Los Angeles.
