Born on 13th December 1985 Iwan was very inclined towards acting since his childhood days. His parents lived in Carmarthenshire, Wales where he was born later he moved to England. His parents are Einar Rheon and Tomos Rheon who are of welsh ethnicity. His parents decided to move to Cardiff to give him a better environment to grow, at this point in time he was just 5 years old. For his primary education, he went to Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf . There he learnt skills like acting and singing. He was very talented from a young age and so decided to make singing his career. He later enrolled himself to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
His got his first acting break in the show Pobol Y Cwm which was a Welsh TV show. He played in the show for a while before leaving it for attending the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He played on stage for the very first time in 2008 when he acted in Eight Miles High at Royal Court Theater in Liverpool. Later he also appeared in the musical show Spring Awakening which later won the Tony Award. Watching his performance in the spring awakening he was cast into the E4 show Misfit which later won BAFTA for its quality and content. At this point in time, he was very well known in the industry as a very god actor. He played a role in the TV show The Secret Diary of a Call Girl in 2011. The same year got nomination for the best actor award by Golden Nymph.
His biggest role to date came in 2013 when he played Ramsey Bolton for the most popular TV show Game of Thrones. This show defined his career as he was so good and natural in his role that people all over the world started liking him. His role was a very big one in the series and he played it with great pride and control. Although his character was killed off in the last episode of season 6, he is still remembered by fans all across the globe as the best villain TV has ever seen. This is a very big compliment for an actor who is just 30 years old. Later in 2014 he appeared in the series Our Girl as Dylan Smith.
Apart from a very successful career in acting he has also had a music career. At and age of just 16 he was the lead singer of the band The Convictions. Although he left the band a year later for pursuing his acting career but the songs are still very good and well know.
