The first time actor appeared was in a short film Boys Grammar. This was considered to be a rather controversial project. Courtney did not make an appearance on the screen for the next couple of years. He did, however, end his absence and went to have a role on an Australian family TV series Packed to the Rafters. He appeared in 2 episodes as Damian. One of the best TV shows Jai has ever been on is Starz's Spartacus: Blood and Sand. He played a role of Varro, a roman citizen who sold himself to become a gladiator and support his family. Jai Courtney's character was the best friend of the show's main protagonist Spartacus. In the first season the Thracian was played by Andy Whitfield but the actor died of cancer. Jai Courtney was close friends with Whitfield on and off the set and he maintained a close relationship with Andy's family since the actor passed away.

After being done with television, the Australian went to star in movies. He played Gideon, a leader of the gargoyles on Stuart Beattie's horror thriller I, Frankenstein and Neil Burger's science fiction film Divergent where he reprised the role of Eric Coulter. Courtney's most recent appearance was on Alan Taylor's Terminator Genisys. He starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke, both big names in television and cinema. Courtney was playing the role of Kyle Reese. Despite the fact that the movie made over 440 million dollars at the Box Office, movie critics and fans disliked the movie and thought it was the worst terminator movie ever made.

Jai Courtney is set to appear on the much-anticipated Suicide Squad as the captain Boomerang, the villainous rogue from Australia who uses boomerangs to achieve his ends.

Personal life

In recent interviews, Jai Courtney admitted that he does not have a girlfriend at the moment. There were rumors that he was dating his co-star on Terminator: Genisys Emilia Clarke but both denied it. He was also recently seen with the beautiful assistant of Margot Robbie on the set of Suicide Squad. However, Courtney claims that he really is single at the moment and does not know what the future holds for his love life.

During his free time, Jai likes to workout a lot, as it can be seen by the way his body looks. The actor does have a Twitter account but it looks like he is not using it at the moment. It's hard to explain why that is, maybe the actor is not familiar with the platform yet. Courtney's net worth is rumored to be at about 3 million dollars.
