Born in the year 1956 to father Pearse Mitchell and mother Anita Velez- Mitchell in Manhattan, New York City, New York, United Sates of America, Jane Velez-Mitchell spent most of his childhood days growing up in New York. She released her third book in the year 2011 which was titled Addict Nation: an Intervention for America. The book deals with the increase in the addiction of drugs in United States of America. Her fourth book was released in the year 2013, which was titled Exposed: The Secret Life of Jodi Arias and it went on to become a New York Times Bestseller. She also produced, directed and wrote a documentary titled Dancing Through Life which went on to win several awards.
Velez has been the winner of a Los Angele Emmy Award. She has also won Southern California Golden Mike Awards four times for her work as a newscaster in KCAL-TV.
