Film and Television Career

Kelly made her film debut in the 1989 comedy Uncle Buck, directed by John Hughes and co-starring John Candy. In 1995, she starred in the film adaptation of the popular stage musical The Fantasticks. Over the course of her career, she has appeared in more than a dozen films, including Ant-Man, Mr. Holland's Opus, Zoe Gone, Locked Away, and A Stranger in the Kingdom.

Her television résumé is equally extensive, comprising over thirty appearances in shows such as CSI: Miami, Grey’s Anatomy, Ally McBeal, and Law & Order. Beyond acting, Kelly expanded her creative pursuits into music composition and singing. She provided the vocals for “Someone to Watch Over Me” in the 1996 film Worlds Apart. A talented dancer, she is trained in tap, ballet, and jazz.

In more recent years, Kelly released her debut music album titled Color of Your Heart. She also acted in and contributed music to the inspirational film 1000 to 1: The Cory Weissman Story, based on the true story of collegiate basketball player Cory Weissman. She was nominated for a Young Artist Award in 2004 and remains active as a singer, actress, and dancer.

Personal Life

Jean Louisa Kelly met her husband, James Pitaro, during her Broadway years. The couple married soon after and have two children: a son named Sean and a daughter named Josey. Kelly stands 5 feet 4 inches tall and has an estimated net worth of $6 million. The family currently resides in Los Angeles. She is also known to be close friends with actress Jennifer Garner, with whom she worked in the 1996 TV movie Harvest of Fire.
