Jennie Runk is an American plus size model who is known for being featured in H&M’s 2013 beachwear campaign. Jennie Runk was born on June, 13, 1989, in Georgia. Runk’s family rescued and fostered dogs and Runk volunteered for the cat adoption center for Open Door Animal Sanctuary at Petsmart in Chesterfied, Missouri; it was there that she was discovered by Mary Clarke of Mother Model Management. Runk originally signed with Wilhelmina Models in March of 2004 but later switched to Ford Models. Runk moved to New York City in 2011 and started modeling full time. Her first major editorial was featured in Vogue’s magazines Shape issue and was photographed by Steven Miesel. She has modeled for a variety of plus-size retailers including two campaigns for Marina Rinaldi in 2012.
Jennie Runk has appeared twice in Glamour magazine, once nude (along with six other plus size models including Ashley Graham and Crystal Renn. She has had photo shoots in Cosmo Girl, Marie Claire and Seventeen and has been interviewed by Vogue Italia’s Vogue Curvy. In May of 2013, Jennie wrote an op-ed piece for BBC on size diversity and her modeling experiences. She currently lives in New York City with a cat named Jasmine.
