Jeremy Lenzo was born on June 19, 1986, in Tallahassee, Florida. Known affectionately by the nickname “Cabbage,” Lenzo has maintained a relatively private personal life, with little public information available about his family or early upbringing. From a young age, he expressed a keen interest in music and began playing guitar during his teenage years. As he developed his musical talents, he also ventured into singing and performed at several local events. His passion for music eventually inspired him to broaden his career opportunities, leading to a move to Detroit.
Lenzo started his music career in the early 2000s, initially as a member of a Tallahassee-based band called Defining Moment. In 2005, he joined Mayday Parade, an alternative rock band formed that same year. The band’s founding lineup included lead vocalist Derek Sanders, guitarists Brooks Betts and Alex Garcia, and drummer Jake Bundrick. Lenzo contributed as the bassist and backing vocalist. The group gained early recognition with the independent release of their debut EP, Tales Told by Dead Friends, in June 2006.
With Mayday Parade, Jeremy Lenzo played a central role in the release of several successful studio albums, including A Lesson in Romantics (2007), Anywhere but Here (2009), and Mayday Parade (2011). The band first signed with Fearless Records in 2006, which contributed to their initial distribution and expansion. In 2009, they signed with Atlantic Records, further increasing their visibility within the alternative rock scene.
In addition to his contributions to Mayday Parade, Lenzo joined fellow guitarist Brooks Betts in 2012 for a side project named “Truth or Consequence,” exploring new musical avenues beyond the band’s established sound.
