Jerome Boateng was born on 3 September 1988 in Berlin, Germany. His mother is from. Germany while his father is from Ghana. His ethnicity is Afro-German in that sense. He has three siblings. His elder brother is Kevin Prince Boateng who is a professional football player as well. Boateng started playing for the Hertha BSC in 2002 as a young teenager.
