After retiring from active play, Rhodes took on a role with Standard Bank in South Africa as an account executive. He also contributed to the bank's cricket sponsorship initiatives. In the following years, he transitioned back into cricket as a coach and currently works as a fielding coach for the South African national cricket team.
Jonty Rhodes married Kate McCarthy, the niece of former South African cricketer Cuan McCarthy, on April 16, 1994, in Pietermaritzburg. The couple later divorced. He subsequently married Melanie Jeanne, with whom he has a daughter named India Jeanne Jonty Rhodes, born on April 24, 2015, in Mumbai. The choice of name reflects Rhodes’ deep affection for India, a country where he has spent significant time both playing cricket and coaching.
Currently, Rhodes resides in Pietermaritzburg with his wife and children. Despite his low public profile regarding wealth, his contribution to cricket—especially distinguished fielding—remains globally respected.
