Juan Pablo Di Pace is an Argentinian actor, singer, and director, best known for his roles in musical films such as Mamma Mia! and for portraying Jesus Christ in the television series A.D. The Bible Continues.

Early Life and Background

Juan Pablo Di Pace was born on July 25, 1979, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is the youngest of three children born to painter Marta Maineri and Victorio Di Pace. His international upbringing has taken him across several countries, including time spent living in London, Trieste, and Madrid. He currently resides in the United States.

Acting Career

Di Pace began his career in the United Kingdom, performing in numerous stage musicals. His early screen appearances include roles in films such as Survival Island (2005) and the musical hit Mamma Mia! (2008), where he gained international recognition.

Between 2009 and 2013, Di Pace worked extensively in Spain, appearing in television series and expanding his presence in the European entertainment industry. In 2014, he joined the cast of TNT’s reboot of Dallas, playing billionaire Nicolás Treviño.

Arguably, Di Pace's most celebrated role came in 2015 when he portrayed Jesus Christ in NBC’s miniseries A.D. The Bible Continues, produced by Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. His performance earned him a Movieguide Grace Award for "Most Inspiring Performance" in 2016.

Work as a Director

In addition to acting, Juan Pablo Di Pace has pursued work behind the camera. He has written and directed several short films, including La Belleza, Venki, and Confirmation. He is also in the process of developing two feature-length films titled New Boy and The Last Light.
