In 2005. he signed a contract to join the MLB club, the Detroit Tigers. He made his first appearance in the major leagues on July 4th, 2005. Signing a deal on the Independence Day of the country was a poetic addition to his story because he had previously helped the country win the silver medal during the Olympic Game a few years previous.

In 2006, he became the first rookie pitcher in the history of the game to win ten games in a row before the end of June. At the end of the season was honored with the Rookie of the Year award. He had amazed fans around the world and his peers with his excellent pitching. Not only did he have natural born talent, he had amazing application of his pitching skill that even the most talented batters miss. They couldn’t hit his fast ball because it was coming too fast that them. When someone did hit a home run off him, people would be shocked and surprised.

He received his spotlight in the national media when he was the starting pitcher against Anthony Reyes from the St. Louis Cardinals team during the 2006 World Series. It received a lot of attention because was the first time that two rookies would face off in the first game of the World Series. Unfortunately for Justin, he could not meet the challenge of the moment. His team ended up losing the game and also end up losing the rest of the series.

In 2007, Justin repeated his successful pitching with a result of 183 strikeouts. In 2009, he got 19 wins as a pitcher and the league in that season. He also got third place in the voting for the American League Cy Young Award.

In the 2011, he was selected to his fourth American League All-Star team appearance, but lost the opportunity to participate in the game because of the scheduling conflicts that arose. In that same year, he also won both the 2011 American League Cy Young Award and the American League MVP Award.

With amazing stats on his resume, he was honored named as the American League starting pitcher during the All-Star Game. During the 2016 season, he was announced by the BBWAA as a finalist for the American League Cy Young Award.

Personal Life

Aside from his accomplishments on the field, he also is very active in his charity work. He launched the "Wins For Warriors Foundation" for veterans of the US Military. He also donated over 2 million dollars to the foundation for their mission and operations. He is also involved in different local Detroit charities for the impoverished and helping out with national efforts such as the “Red Cross”.

He is not married yet but he has dated to his beautiful supermodel girlfriend Kate Upton since 2011. In 2016, they decided to get engaged. His future wife is admired by man men because she is a sexy model and actress. He has a net worth of 60 million dollars and his salary is about $20 million.
