In 2006, he became the first rookie pitcher in the history of the game to win ten games in a row before the end of June. At the end of the season was honored with the Rookie of the Year award. He had amazed fans around the world and his peers with his excellent pitching. Not only did he have natural born talent, he had amazing application of his pitching skill that even the most talented batters miss. He received his spotlight in the national media when he was the starting pitcher against Anthony Reyes from the St. Louis Cardinals team during the 2006 World Series. He also donated over 2 million dollars to the foundation for their mission and operations.
