Early Life and Education

Kayna Whitworth is a television correspondent for ABC News, currently based in Los Angeles, California. She was born as Kayna Logan Whitworth on July 4, 1982, in Aurora, Colorado. She graduated from Grandview High School and later attended Colorado State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies.

Start of Journalism Career

Whitworth began her journalism career at KTVZ, an NBC-affiliated station in Bend, Oregon, working as both a reporter and anchor. She then joined KBOI-TV in Boise, Idaho, where she continued to build her experience in broadcast journalism. Following her time in Idaho, she moved to Tucson, Arizona, to work as an anchor at KOLD-TV, a CBS-affiliated television station.

Career Transition to Major Markets

In December 2012, Whitworth relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, to assume the position of weekend evening anchor and weekday morning anchor at WHDH, Channel 7. Her on-air presence and reporting abilities gained recognition, eventually leading to her recruitment by ABC News in 2015. As a Los Angeles-based correspondent for ABC News, she has covered a range of major national stories and events, becoming a respected figure within the field of journalism.
