Christian Scott aTunde is known as an American jazz trumpeter, composer and producer. He is most famous for winning the Edison Award twice and he was also nominated for a Grammy Award. He is the nephew of famous jazz saxophonist Donald Harrison.

Christian Scott was born as Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah on March 31, 1983 in New Orleans, Louisiana. When he was 13 years old, he started learning how to play music by getting lessons from his uncle. His uncle is Donald Harrison, Jr who was known around the world as a great jazz innovator and legendary sax man.

After completing his graduation from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts in 2001, Christian got a full tuition scholarship to the Berklee College of Music. At the college, he earned a degree in professional music and film scoring just thirty months after his enrollment.

Career

Since starting his professional music career in 2002, Christian has released eleven critically acclaimed studio recordings, two praised live albums and also one greatest hits collection. He is well- known for developing the harmonic convention that has been called the “forecasting cell” and for his use of an un-voiced tone in his musical instrument playing.
