Kim Hughes

Mark Hughes was born on 26 January 1954 in Victoria. He started to play the game early as his brother used to play the game as well. He was born to white parents of australian nationality. His family belonged to the upper middle class and could afford making him take cricketing lessons. He started to play with his friends and became pretty good at it. He was later included in the school team that he went to.

He started  off as an all rounder but later focussed on just batting. He played in the school team and won them many matches. He won them many matches single handedly while giving many great performances for the team. When he grew a little he joined a small club. He however also liked playing football and wanted to make a career in that sport but later chose cricket as his career path.

He was later  enrolled into City Beach High School where he played for the school under 16 team. In 1970 he debuted for his first claas team. He was hailed by many as very technical and classy player. He was however not as successful as he wanted to be and only could manage less runs for the team. Once he was out trying to hit a six and complete his century but was caught by the captain of opponent team. He however kept on playing and working hard and later found himself to be one of the important players for the team.

In 1975 he was selected as the captain of North Perth Cricket Club. He did his debut for the national team in 1976 against a very strong pakistan team. He went on to play 70 tests and 90 ODI for his team. He came at a time when most of the senior players were retiring from cricket and a lot of young talented players were coming into the team. He however did not play in his first series as he felt homesickness and tried to leave the game. He was later selected in the team that went on England tour.

In 1978 the Australian team was divided into two teams one that was a private team that was made by a businessman and the other was the Australian Cricket Team. Hughes however chose to remain with the Australian cricket Board. This led to many misunderstandings and he was seen as an outcast. The fallout between his players and him made him retire from the cricket and take a very depressing last press conference where he was seen to be crying.

He is a married man. He married his longtime girlfriend Jenny Davidson. He has a child with his wife. After his abrupt retirement he started his business and steered himself clear of cricket. He has since then been keeping him away from cricket after becoming a former cricketer. He is very famous on social network as he posts regular pictures on Instagram as well as twitter. His net worth is estimated to be around $20 million.
