Her current job as an anchor was a promotion from her previous KTTV job. Vivacious, outgoing, and bold since her childhood, Lauren used to manage the boys' hockey team in high school. In an interview she stated that she used to fill the team's water bottles in the toilet because they were a bunch of d-bags. After graduating from high school, she developed a dream to work as an on-screen persona. She attended the prestigious Goerge Washington University and earned a degree in Journalism and Political Science. In addition to getting a degree from the prestigious university, Sivan also received an advanced certificate in Homeland Security from Long Island University.

She landed her first on-screen job at News 12 Long Island as an overnight anchor and reporter. After that, she worked for New York based WTEM-18 News for two years after joining the outlet in 2003. Shortly after leaving WTEM, she joined Fox News Channel as an overnight headline reader in 2008. This marked the beginning of Sivan's breakthrough in her reporting career. In 2010, she decided to accept the job offer of a reporter from Fox 11 (KTTV ) and leave New York. The main reasons she left FNC were her immense love for her native city, and her dislike of the frigid New York weather.

Ultimately, she left Fox News Channel despite her positive relationship with network management and her stellar job performance. Her career breakthrough job can be regarded as her time in FNC. For FNC, she reported for various popular acts such as On The Record, The Fox Record, Red Eye and Strategy Room. However, FNC couldn’t hold this Emmy award nominated journalist back. Yes, you heard it correctly. She has received an Emmy award nomination twice. She received her first Emmy for covering the immigration dilemma in Mexico. Sivan received her second Emmy for covering the 2006 Israel/Lebanon conflict in Jerusalem. In addition to winning two Emmys, she has also earned an amazing six years of experience working as producer at FNC (Fox News Sunday) and Fox & Friends.

Throughout these six years, Sivan demonstrated her immense talent as an on screen anchor and as a behind the scenes producer. This goes to show that Sivan possesses an amazing talent for producing and presenting quality news programming. The loss for FNC ultimately became a gain for KTTB. However, the Sivan's talent remained in the Fox News franchise as KTTV is a Fox owned and operated television station.
