Throughout her career, Lil’ Kim has sold more than thirty million singles and fifteen million albums worldwide. Lil’ Kim’s debut album, Hard Core (1996) was certified double platinum and sold more than six million copies worldwide. Lil’ Kim is known for her feud with rapper Nicki Manaj ever since Manaj dissed her in the track Hoodstars which was released in 2003.
On July 6, 2005, Lil' Kim was sentenced to prison for three counts of perjury and one count of conspiracy surrounding a shooting on February 26, 2001 that occurred as Lil’ Kim left the New York radio station Hot 97. In 2014, Lil’ Kim was included in Billboard’s list of the 31 Female Rappers Who Changed Hip-Hop. Also in 2014, Lil’ Kim gave birth to a baby girl, named Royal Reign.
