After her graduation, she worked at weather center for Press Association for around four years where she was working like a forecaster, doing the scripts for the radio and the forecasts for the newspapers. She had to complete the work placement on the Sky Weather Center, before she started to work as a weather forecaster. She started to work at Sky Channel and was a regular presenter for Sky News Breakfaster show called Sunrise. In the year 2007, The Sky News started the News Website called Climate Clinic: Ask Lucy and this was the part for the Green Britain campaign and she was in charge of answering the questions that the members put forwards asking to know more about the climate change. She was also the contributor for the blog of Sky News called The Weather Girls.

In 2010, she became a member of the ITV Breakfast program called Daybreak. She was working as environment and weather forecaster together with Kristy McCabe. McCabe decided to leave the program and Verasamy was left alone as a single weather forecaster.  In 2012, she decided to live the program also.  Now she is working on ITV for its national weather forecasts.
