Early Life and Education
Lucy Verasamy was born in 1980 in Norfolk, England. She attended Silfield Primary School, followed by Framlingham College Junior School in Suffolk, and later King Edward VII School in Norfolk. During her academic years, she pursued A-Level studies in Geography. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geography from Brunel University in 2001.

Career Beginnings in Weather Forecasting
Following her graduation, Verasamy began her professional career at the Press Association's weather centre. Over the course of four years, she worked as a forecaster, preparing scripts for radio broadcasts and producing weather content for various newspapers. As part of her training, she completed a work placement at the Sky Weather Centre, which marked the start of her broadcasting career.
Rise at Sky News
Verasamy joined Sky News as a weather presenter and became a regular on the breakfast show, Sunrise. In 2007, she began contributing to the Sky News website feature titled Climate Clinic – Ask Lucy, which was launched as part of the Green Britain campaign. This platform allowed the public to pose questions about climate change, which Lucy answered directly. Additionally, she contributed to the Sky News weather blog, The Weather Girls.
Transition to ITV Weather
In 2010, Verasamy joined ITV’s breakfast program Daybreak as an environment and weather forecaster alongside presenter Kirsty McCabe. After McCabe's departure, Verasamy remained as the sole weather forecaster. She exited the program in 2012 but continued her work with ITV. She currently serves as a weather presenter for ITV's national weather forecasts.
