He was born to Norton Cuban, an automobile upholsterer, and Shirley Cuban, who held various jobs throughout her life. From a young age, Cuban demonstrated ambition and entrepreneurial spirit. At the age of 12, he began selling garbage bags door-to-door to earn money, later expanding his efforts to include newspaper delivery and other small jobs.
