According to his biography, Milan started playing ice hockey because of the inspiration of his uncle when he was studying at his high school. However there was a break from the sport in his career due to a disease and he later on resumed his professional career in 2004 when he signed a contract with the team Coquitlam Express. He played on many games with the team and performed well there. He played many minor leagues there and with some other teams and gained some popularity there because of his performance.
He however rose to fame when he signed a contract with the team Boston Bruins in the year 2007 and made his NHL debut with the team. He went on to play for the team till 2015 and became much popular there. He won many championships and trophies for his team. He was later traded to Los Angeles Kings in the year 2015 and has been playing them ever since. He has won many awards and appreciations in the past including the prestigious President's Cup, Stafford Smythe Memorial Trophy, NHL YoungStars Game, Stanley Cup champion and many others.
