Early Life and Education
Nathan Coulter-Nile was born in 1987 in Perth, Western Australia. He is the eldest of three siblings, with two younger sisters. He attended Aquinas College in Perth, where his cricketing potential became evident. While at school, he represented Western Australia at under-17 and under-19 levels.

In the 2005–06 Under-19 Championship held in Perth, Coulter-Nile took eight wickets at an average of 24.50 in six matches. During the under-17 tournament, he took four wickets for just 19 runs across five innings, demonstrating early promise as a fast bowler.
Domestic Career and Development
At just 16 years old, Coulter-Nile began playing grade cricket in the 2003–04 season for the Fremantle District Cricket Club. He initially played in the third-grade team but made his first-grade debut the following season. In ten matches, he claimed 18 wickets at an average of 25.72, including a five-wicket haul of 5/56 against Joondalup. He later trained at the Dennis Lillee Fast Bowling Academy, further refining his skills.
He held a rookie contract with the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) for multiple seasons before making his senior state debut in the 2009–10 season. Following his debut, Coulter-Nile became a regular member of Western Australia's fast-bowling lineup and also played a pivotal role for the Perth Scorchers in domestic T20 competitions.
Youth International Career
Coulter-Nile represented Australia in three Youth One Day Internationals (ODIs) with the national under-19 side. Notably, he was selected to play against Pakistan in 2007 in a series of Under-19 ODIs. He also appeared in the Cricket Australia Cup while of part the second XI squad, reinforcing his reputation as a promising pace bowler.
