Education and early career

Nick was very enthusiastic about acting while growing up and used to perform at many palays and musicals. He was very fond of drama and theatre and got himself in acting by improvisation classes and competitive speech tournaments. He had his graduation from Creighton Preparatory School in the year 1998 which was a private school. After that, he went to Marquette University and done his successful graduation with a dual major in History and Theatre. When he was here, he also studied poverty and race issues in the Dominican Republic for one semester. During his university days, he was so determined to be an actor that he hired an agent.

It was very interesting that the famous director Alexander Payne (for the movie Nebraska) gave him his first breakthrough in one of his movies named ‘Election’ when he was still in school. When he was in college he acted in another film called ‘Pshycho beach Party’. After the graduation, he went to Los Angeles for chasing his dream as a professional actor.

Notable Works and method acting

Till now he worked in 40 films. His notable works includes Election, Rocket Science, Fired up and Final destination 5. He loves theatre and so he does it whenever he gets a chance. He acted in the play ‘Chomsky 9/11’ and in present times he started acting in the A2 Ensemble of Los Angeles classical theatre group. He is a hard working actor who reads and prepares a lot when an important role lands on him. As for example, when he got the role of Dr. Haas in ‘Masters of Sex’, he read ‘The fifties’ by David Halberstam and watched many films from the period of 1950. He also watched documentaries from that period to understand the character more. He once attended a two-day debate course when he was working in the movie ‘Rocket science’.
