Patrick Flueger was born on December 10, 1983, in Red Wing, Minnesota, USA. He is the eldest of three siblings. Flueger attended Red Wing High School, where his interest in acting began to take shape. Although he did not pursue a formal college or university education, his natural talent and dedication to performance allowed him to launch a successful acting career without traditional professional training.

Film and Television Career

Patrick Flueger began his acting career in 2001 with a small role as Jeremiah Hart in the popular romantic comedy The Princess Diaries, directed by Garry Marshall. The film, which also catapulted Anne Hathaway to fame, was a commercial success, grossing over $165 million worldwide. Although Flueger's role was minor, it provided him with valuable exposure early in his career.

He continued to build his resume with roles in both film and television. One of his more notable early film appearances was in Roger Donaldson’s biographical drama The World’s Fastest Indian (2005), starring Anthony Hopkins. Contrary to some claims, the film was critically well-received and performed modestly at the box office, earning back more than its production budget globally.

In 2007, Flueger landed the lead role of Ryan, a DJ, in Henry Pincus’ film You Are Here. The film showcased his ability to handle more complex characters in leading roles. In 2009, he appeared in three different films: Kill Theory, The Job, and Brothers. In The Job, he played one of the principal characters, whereas his roles in the other two films were more supportive in nature.

In 2011, he appeared in Craig Brewer’s remake of Footloose, portraying the character Chuck Cranston. The film was moderately successful, grossing nearly $64 million worldwide. Flueger's most recent credited film role is in The Tell-Tale Heart, a psychological thriller adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic tale. Directed by John La Tier, the film has yet to be widely released, and specific details remain scarce.

Television Success: Chicago P.D. and The 4400

Beyond film, Flueger is known for his work in television. From 2004 to 2007, he played Shawn Farrell, one of the lead characters in the CBS science fiction series The 4400. This role significantly boosted his profile among television audiences.

Since 2014, Patrick Flueger has portrayed Officer Adam Ruzek in NBC’s police procedural drama Chicago P.D., a key show within the well-known Chicago franchise. His performance as Ruzek has earned him consistent recognition and helped cement his status as a strong presence in serialized television drama.
