Ryan "Rocket Man" Newman is known as an American stock car racing driver. He is most famous for competing in NASCAR and driving the No. 6 Ford Mustang for Roush Fenway Racing.
Ryan Newman was born on December 8, 1977, in South Bend, Indiana. The first car he owned was a 74 Triumph TR-6. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in engineering.
Ryan Newman started his professional racing career by competing in United Midget Auto Racing Association's All-American Midget Series in 1993. He won Rookie of the Year and a championship in his debut year. He has won two titles and 100 feature wins in his long career. He moved to the USAC in 1995 and was driving a No 39 Drinan Chassis vehicle powered by Brayton Motor. He won the Silver Crown of 1996.
In 1999, Newman became the first driver who was able to win all three divisions when he was driving a No 14 Beast Chassis Powered Chevy. Ryan Newman started driving under the coaching of driving icon, Roger Penske in 2000. He also joined the ranks of stock car racing. He drove a No 27 Ford for Alltel of Penske Racing in an ARCA RE/MAX series. He was the winner three times in the five times that he raced and he made it to a Winston Cup debut for Phoenix International Raceway.
His car was featured on the cover of the 2005 EA Sports NASCAR video game and he was also involved in the development of the game. He was featured in a few episodes of American Pickers when he was buying the bumper cars for children. He endorsed the presidential campaign of Donald Trump in the 2016 election season.
Ryan Newman is a happily married man. His wife is named Krissie they gave birth to two daughters. Newman together with his wife owns and operates Rescue Ranch. The mission for the company is for promoting animals and the agricultural, wildlife and environment conservation by educating people about them. The Rescue Ranch also offers a place for rescue and rehabilitation for responsible pet ownership to strengthen the bond between humans and animals. The family rescued and also is caring for five dogs. He donated funds for the construction of the North Carolina Humane Society in Catawba. This is the county where he lived in the past.
