Early Life and Training

Shane Harper began life as an actor and dancer at the age of nine. He was probably following the footsteps of his older sister. At a local dancing competition in California, he was discovered by an entertainment representative. This was made possible by his deep involvement in community theatre and competitive dancing. Early in his life, he learnt to play the guitar and piano, and studied martial arts. At age 12, Shane had become a black belt holder in Karate. In dancing, he trained in ballet, hip-hop and lyrical jazz.

Career

Shane Harper is an actor, singer and dancer. He played the role of a principal dancer in ‘High School Musical 2,’ ‘Re-Animated’ and ‘Dance Revolution.’ He was one of the lead dancers in Nickelodeon’s ‘Dance on Sunset.’ But it was not until 2010 that he landed his first major movie role in the Bollywood movie – ‘My Name is Khan.’ He also acted in ‘Flipped’ in the same year.

He acted alongside Bridgit Chandler, who would later become his girlfriend on Disney Channel’s ‘Good Luck Charlie’ and starred as Austin Welch in the MTV TV series – ‘Awkward.’ Shane gave a good account of himself in all the movie roles he played and thus he landed the main character role in the Christian-based movie – ‘God’s Not Dead.’ A devout Christian, Shane traces his faith to early family experiences, claiming he literally grew up in the church. He was deeply involved in church activities as a boy, especially in youth initiatives and noted that his family was a mid-week church faithful.

Reflecting his background in his career is something Shane loves to do. He wrote a song ‘Hold You Up’ using it to encourage Christians to hold on to what they believe and to stand for their faith. He played the role of one of the disciples in the musical: ‘The Passion’ which was released in March 2016. Shane released his first single ‘Dance with Me’ in March 2010 and in 2011 released ‘One Step Closer,’ before releasing a third single ‘Rocketship.’ He has been good and committed to what he does. In 2014, he won the K-Love Fan Award for Film/television Impact Actor for his role in the movie ‘God’s Not Dead.’

Personal Life

Shane Harper got into a relationship with actress Bridgit Mendler in 2011. This was not to last for so long though because the lady announced in 2015 that they had split. This setback did not deter Shane as he is still making waves, raking in a net worth estimated to be $4 million. He has also gone on to direct and produce a short film – ‘An Apprentice’ in 2016.
