Basketball Wives

Shaunie got more fame when she became the executive producer for Basketball Wives.  The reality show that O’Neal created follows the lives of wives, ex-wives, and girlfriends of pro basketball players. After the success of the first show, she was asked to produce a second one based in Los Angeles called Basketball Wives LA.

She also produced a third show called Shaunie's Home Court which is a reality series centered on her and her five children.

Reality TV Controversy

After a recent season of Basketball Wives wrapped up, Shaunie and fellow castmate Jennifer Williams reached the peak of a bitter dispute. Fans of the show speculate that there is no way to repair their relationship. They have had many nasty verbal disputes on the show. Some of their arguments have gotten so nasty and made people on the show every uncomfortable.

During a recent interview, Williams called Shaunie “messy”, alluding to the fact that the middle aged woman has lost her way and is no longer taking good care of her image and family. It was seen as nasty cat comments but it really stung because there is some truth to it.

When she appeared on a radio show called Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, Williams had some negative things to say about Shaunie, "Shaunie starts a lot of things behind the scene. It's really interesting that Shaunie has selective memory. She couldn't seem to remember if Tam had said those things, which had happened.. She never wants to be in the middle of everything."

Williams was alluding to the fact that Shaunie likes to stir up drama and then step away from it without taking responsibility. There were rumors that Shaunie fired Williams after the comments but her reps denied it and confirmed that Williams will be on the next season. They don’t want Shaunie to seem like a dictator and confirm the comments made by Williams. Shaunie had a previous healthy relationship with Williams but it seems her desire to make the show more entertaining for fans has caused their relationship to suffer. Even though it is reality TV, she has to twist some of the storylines to entertain the fans at the expense of her friends.

Personal Life

After the divorce from Shaq, she started to see Marlon Yate who is a model. After the divorce, she got a half of 300 million which was the net worth of Shaq. She is given 40,000 dollars a month in child support and 5 million every year in alimony. Shaq made a big mistake with his cheating and he now has to pay a large amount for his mistakes.
