Sofia Balbi was born on October 11, 1989 in Uruguay (age 26). She is mostly known as the wife of Luis Suarez, one of the highest-paid players in the world. Sofia and Luis met in 2001 while he was a street sweeper in Uruguay. It is considered one of the classical love stories – a poor boy falls in love with a rich girl. Sofia was part of the Uruguayan middle class. This was not a problem for the two of them. Sofia’s family liked the boy and he was often called to their home to have dinner with them. Marriage with Luis Suarez

In 2006, FC Groningen, a Dutch soccer team bought Suarez and it gave him the chance to come to Europe. The coach said that when he arrived he took off a few days in order to reunite with Sofia. In 2009 the two of them got married.
Children
On August 5, 2010, Sofia welcomed their first daughter, Delfina. In 2013, the couple had their second child. Benjamin was born on September and his father showed off a t-shirt with his pic during a goal celebration. It is said that during their time spent in Liverpool, Delfina got a Scouse accent. Her name is actually an anagram of Anfield. This is known to be the home of the Reds.
Luis’ career is not without incidents. During the 2014 World Cup Luis bit Giorgio Chiellini, the Italian defender. He was suspended and was unable to play during the tournament. When that incident happened Sofia said the Luis didn’t have the intention of biting Chiellini. Proof showed her different.
Private life
Except for her husband’s fame, she is a shy person when it comes to getting in touch with media. She does everything to avoid the spotlight and is more than happy to be stay-home mom, in order to take care of her children. She is very supportive towards her husband and she considers that it is a woman’s job to stand by their husbands. Being such a private person, her net worth is unknown, although her husband has a fortune of approximately $9 million.
