Background

Sony Michel was born on February 17, 1995. His parents moved from Haiti a year after his older sister Lamise was brought into the world. Michel went to classes at American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida. He was a student athlete in high school and was the starting running back for the American Heritage Patriot. As a senior in high school, Sony rushed for 1,833 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Career

For his college football career, Sony played at Georgia.  In 2014, when he was freshman player at Georgia in Michel played in eight games and made one start. Sony missed five games due to a minor injury, he suffered a fractured shoulder blade. He still ended up rushing for 410 yards on 64 carries with five rushing touchdowns in his first college season

In the 2018-2019 season, Sony had a good year as his team, the Patriots won the AFC East and earned the #2-seed for the AFC Playoffs tournament. When they competed in the Divisional Round against the Los Angeles Chargers, Sony had 24 carries for 129 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in the 41–28 victory over the Chargers.
