Steve Wojciechowski

Born on August 11, 1976, in Severna Park, Maryland, Steve Wojo Wojciechowski spent most of his childhood days in Maryland. He completed his education at the Cardinal Gibbons School in Baltimore, Maryland. He was part of the Baltimore Catholic League and was then chosen for the McDonald's All-American team in 1994. He then went on to graduate from Duke University, where he was part of the Duke Blue Devils. In 1996, he led his team to win the ACC regular season championship. They also went on to play in the NCAA South Regional final in 1997, where he was a tri-captain and they finished with a 32-4 overall mark. During his career in the Duke Blue Devils, he was able to get the second-highest number of steals in a single season and ranked eighth at Duke for career steals. He was the recipient of the National Defensive Player of the Year honor in 1998. He has also been listed in the career Top 10 lists.

He played professional basketball for Poland after he went undrafted in the 1998 NBA Draft following his graduation. After a year, he returned to Duke and began an internship with the Duke Management Company, as well as working for the Duke Radio Network as a basketball analyst. In 1999, he started working for Duke University as an assistant coach, and by 2008 he had worked his way up to the position of associate coach. He coached his team to victory in the NCAA Championship in both 2001 and 2010. Since he joined the Duke staff, the Duke Blue Devils have had a remarkable record, winning the ACC regular season championship five times and the ACC Tournament Championship nine times. He also served as a court coach for the USA Basketball Senior National Team from 2006 to 2012, helping them prepare for the Beijing Olympics in 2008, where they won the gold medal and the London Olympics in 2012. Steve is known for developing and creating Duke's most versatile player, Josh McRoberts, who earned second-team ALL-ACC recognition.
