Sukanya Krishnan was born on August 2, 1971, in Madras, India, now known as Chennai. She was raised in Staten Island, New York, and attended New Dorp High School. Notably, she shared her classroom with Clifford Smith Jr., better known as Method Man of the renowned hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. Excelling in academics, Krishnan went on to attend Dickinson College in Pennsylvania from 1990 to 1993, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish. During her time at Dickinson, she served as senior class president.
