Susan Carlson bio and Career

Susan Carlson was born in 1970. She is known as a news co-anchor for WMAQ-TV in Chicago. Susan Carlson was raised in Dolton, Illinois and ended up attending Seton Academy in South Holland, Illinois. She went on to get her college education from Loyola University where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism in 1991. Almost 20 years later, she received her Master’s Degree in Journalism from Roosevelt University.

After finishing school at Loyola, Carlson started her journalism career as a news reporter and morning show co-host on the radio. After 11 years at the WBBM station, she decided to join WMAQ-TV-Channel 5 in Chicago and became their news anchor in 2014.

Carlson has resided in many different neighborhoods in Chicago including Lincoln Park, Rogers Park, Old Town, and Streeterville. She is in love with the state of Illinois and never sees herself living away from it. She is a divorced woman but she adopted a 4 year old little girl from India in 2015.
