Tyrese Gibson was born December 30, 1978 in Los Angeles, California. He is a singer, songwriter, actor, model, VJ, screenwriter, film producer, author, and television producer. He is easily recognized from his roles in Fast and the Furious, Transformers, and Death Race. Tyrese was raised by a single parent, and was encouraged by his high school music teacher to audition for a Coca Cola commercial in 1994. He landed the role which paved the way to appearances for Guess and Tommy Hilfiger. In 1998, at age 19, he was signed to RCA Records and his first single, "Nobody Else" placed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He began hosting MTV Jams on MTV.
His third single "Sweet Lady" earned him a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Male Vocal Performance and was later certified Platinum. After several years of lesser performance, Tyrese released his final studio album, Black Rose, on July 10, 2015. It debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and quickly became the number one album of his career. Tyrese married Normal Mitchell in 2007 and they share one daughter who was born that same year. They divorced two years later in 2009. He remarried Samantha Lee on February 14, 2017 and had a daughter together on October 1, 2018.
